Bike 4 Betty…and all the women in your life!

Q. What is the Trillium Health Centre Bike 4 Betty?
It is a family bike ride event to raise funds in support of cancer care services for Trillium’s Betty Wallace Women’s Health Centre and the new Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre.


Q. When and where is the event taking place?
Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Memorial Park, 20 Lakeshore Road East, Port Credit, Mississauga, Ontario (at Mississauga Road). VIEW MAP


Q. May I in-line skate, walk or run?
Bicycles only please. No skateboards, rollerblades, unicycles or mortorized vehicles allowed on the routes.


Q. May I bring my dog?
Dogs will not be allowed on the route but are welcome to attend the festivities at Memorial Park. For safety reasons, we ask that dogs be kept on a leash.


Q. How do I raise pledges electronically?

  1. Register here to begin raising pledges on-line. A confirmation will be e-mailed to you once you complete the registration process.
  2. To access this service after being registered, you must login using your username and password. Electronic pledges will go directly to Trillium Health Centre’s cancer care services. Donors will receive an electronic tax receipt immediately.

By raising pledges online, participants can:

  • Obtain donations through secure online pledge payment processing
  • Create their own personal webpage
  • Set their own personal fundraising goal
  • Send emails to friends, family and colleagues asking for their support
  • Provide sponsors/donors with e-tax receipts via email as soon as online donations have been made
  • View their online donations to-date
  • View their real-time fundraising goal thermometer


Q. How do I sponsor a participant on-line?
To sponsor a participant, visit this link. You can search for a participant by first and last name or you can sponsor a team. When you pledge online, you will receive an instant E-Tax receipt.

Q. Can I make a donation if I am not participating in the Bike 4 Betty?
Certainly. You can donate online or mail a cheque, payable to Trillium Health Centre Foundation, to:

Q. How do I volunteer to help at the event?

Q.Do I need to raise the minimum pledge and what if I do not?
Because the event is a charity fundraiser we are asking participants to commit to raising pledges in support of cancer care services at Trillium Health Centre. The registration fee only covers the costs associated with the event. We will certainly not deny participants who cannot raise the pledge minimum. On the website you can get some great fundraising tips that may help.


Q. Can I register my family at once?
Online, yes you can register your family all at once. In person (offline), due to the waiver, the registration needs to be filled out for each individual.


Q. Do I have to pay the $40 even if I raise the pledge minimum?
Because the event is a charity fundraiser we are asking participants to commit to raising pledges in support of cancer care services at Trillium Health Centres. The registration fee only covers the costs associated with the event.


Q. Can I log in using last years login?
You cannot login last years password for this years event. You will need to register again and pay the fees. You can then create the same password and login.


Q. How do cash/cheque (offline) donations get added to my online total?
Offline donations cannot be added online.


Q. What do I need to bring with me on event day?

The following is a list of items to bring with you on event day:

  • Bicycle in good working order
  • Bike helmet (required)
  • Spare tubes
  • Water bottles
  • Comfortable cycling clothes
  • Sun protection
  • Registration form and fee (if not pre-registered)
  • Pledges and pledge forms
  • Blanket to make yourself comfortable for the event festivities and entertainment
